Colleen Whitney is a lifelong resident of Kitchener-Waterloo and she has been a licensed Real Estate Sales Representative since 1982. For 36 years, Colleen has been a full service residential realtor at Whitney & Company Realty.
Colleen is an advocate for client needs, she is an effective communicator, and is respectful of clients’ busy schedules and lifestyles. When Colleen became a realtor she already had an excellent understanding of the mortgage approval process. She first developed her in depth knowledge at Royal Trust in the mortgage department. Colleen went on to work at a number of law firms in the Waterloo Region including Giffen Lawyers. She became proficient in the complex legal processes involved in a real estate transaction—from documentation to binding agreements and closing procedures.
Colleen joined John Whitney in June 1982, who was a broker and encouraged her to join the residential sector at Whitney & Company Realty. Colleen quickly learned the nuances of appraisals and appraisal reports from John’s father Richard Whitney who was a certified appraiser.
Colleen is a practiced negotiator and a person of confidence; she is research focused, investigative, strategic, honest, ethical and resourceful. She listens to each client and offers customized approaches based on individual needs. Colleen is an experienced residential sales representative in value categories; up to $500K, listings $500K+, and listings $1Million+. Her niche in high-end residential homes has resulted in over 20 transactions in the $1Million+ value range. Colleen also assists her esteemed clients in the buying and selling of condos and the buying and selling of land. She is always very respectful of clients’ confidentiality, best interests, security, and the well-being of their homes.
Colleen is a passionate golfer at Westmount Golf & Country Club in Kitchener where she enjoys playing 9 holes of golf before she starts her work day. She volunteers with the Gyrette Club; a service club for the visually impaired. Colleen often attends meetings and events hosted by the Chamber of Commerce, and she is a member of the charitable organization 100 Women Who Care Waterloo Region.
Recently Colleen was awarded the prestigious Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist® (CLHMS) designation and simultaneously earned the Million Dollar Guild® (GUILD) recognition based on her knowledge, experience and expertise in the luxury residential real estate market.
Carrying the family business into its’ 5th generation is Ginger Whitney, Vice President and Broker at Whitney & Company Realty Limited. Licensed for over 8 years, Ginger is the first broker in the Waterloo Region to have both SIOR & CCIM designations. Ginger also serves on the Kitchener-Waterloo Real Estate Board of Directors.
Ginger has established herself as one of the top broker’s in the Region focusing on investment sales and leasing. She is continuing this success with her involvement in some of Waterloo Region’s largest and most innovative projects.
Ginger is extremely proud to be having such an impact on the growth of KW as she was born and raised in Waterloo. She lives in the core of Uptown and has a strong passion for being involved in the community.
Having participated in many sports growing up Ginger enjoys working in a Team setting. Although each agent has their specialty, Ginger stresses the importance of teamwork and collaboration in everything we do here at Whitney & Company.
